Following the completion of an upcoming auction for four licenses of nationwide TV channels, the government was planning to launch a similar procedure for thematic channels, Minister of State Nikos Pappas said on Wednesday.

Speaking on local radio, Pappas said that the auction for the four licenses, valid for 10 years, would be held on August 30, as previously announced.

The auction follows the approval of legislation approved by Parliament in October last year.
