Anna Korakaki, winner of a gold medal in the 25m pistol event, and a bronze in the 10m air pistol event at the Rio 2016 Olympics, arrived in Athens, Thursday. Korakaki said she was unable to realise what had happened, while she said she fulfilled her dream twice by winning two medal at the Olympic Games. ‘I feel proud to be the first Greek female athlete that wins two medals in the ams Games after 104 years’, she said. Korakaki said she would never forget the adversities she had to overcome, adding that she wanted to become an inspiration for young children. The Greek Minister for Interior Panayiotis Kouroublis, who lead the official reception of the Olympic winner, said Korakaki was a ‘child of all of Greece’.
