Firefighters battle blaze in Crete

Firefighters in Crete were on Monday battling a large fire that broke out near the village of Apesokari, in Iraklio.

A total 20 firefighters were involved in the effort to contain the blaze, manning 10 fire engines. The firefighting efforts were hampered by strong winds and high temperatures.

There were no reports of any injuries by noon.
