Greek PM Alexis Tsipras met with Italian counterpart Mateo Renzi on the sidelines of the EU Summit and ways to promote a Mediterranean development plan within the framework of the EU. According to Greek government sources, the idea had the support of French President Fransois Hollande, and Portuguese PM Antonio Costa, while the Mediterranean ‘poole’ could also include Spain in an effort to bring economic balance between North and South Europe. Meanwhile, the Greek PM is scheduled to take part in the Paris conference of the European progressive political leaders to take place after the Warsaw NATO meeting on July 9. The same sources said British PM David Cameron thanked Tsipras for his stance on the UK referendum.
