Forest fire raging in Boeotia

A forest fire is raging in the area of Stefani, near Dervenochoria in Boeotia. A pine forest has ben completely destroyed. 115 firefighters, 56 vehicles, a 38-member hiker unit, 5 aeroplanes and 3 helicopters are operating to contain the spread of the blaze. The fire started around 10.40pm, Saturday night at an area covered in pine trees. Mayor Spyros Stamatis said the fire is out of control. The fire department said no residential areas were in any immediate threat from the fire.
