Call for unity on center-left
Democratic Left (DIMAR), the small center-left party that ran on the same ticket as PASOK in last year’s general election, has called on Greece’s social democratic parties to unite.
DIMAR’s central committee agreed on Saturday that the party should advocate PASOK, To Potami and other center-left movements coming together under one roof.
The party pointed to the fact that DIMAR recently cooperated successfully with PASOK and Potami in finding common positions in certain policy areas. The final document is due to be presented next month.
DIMAR proposes that all the parties should merge into one movement, whose leader will be elected by party members, within the next six months.
