Court calls Roupakias to attend Golden Dawn trials
The main defendants in the murder of antifascist activist Pavlos Fyssas are expected to be in court on Friday, including the self-confessed murderer Giorgos Roupakias.
Roupakias had recently been released from remand, since the 18-month maximum detainment period had lapsed, however he opted to remain under house arrest and did not attend any subsequent court sessions.
This is the case with most of the defendants, which resulted in only one of the 68 defendants actually being in court in the last session. The courts however have demanded that the 17 defendants implicated in the Fyssas murder attend Friday’s session.
Upon arriving in court under heavy police custody, the mother and uncle of Pavlos Fyssas yelled abuse to the
member of the ultranationalist neo-Nazi party.
