Two arrested in connection to attack on bus, trolley
Two men, a 32-year-old Greek national and a 31-year-old Albanian, were detained on Thursday in connection to an arson attack on a bus and a trolley near Omonia Square late on Wednesday. The public transport vehicles were severely damaged by a group of assailants who threw Molotov cocktails.
Reports suggested the suspects had allegedly forced a group of about 15 passengers to disembark from the bus before carrying out the attack.
Meanwhile, police forces in Thessaloniki on Thursday evacuated a city center building where a group of people were conducting a sit-in following a complaint by its owner. A 23-year-old German man, a 22-year-old Danish woman and a 26-year-old Swiss woman were arrested during the operation.
