Police on Monday were seeking four unidentified vandals who late on Sunday broke into a house in the affluent northern suburb of Ekali, burgled it and then during their getaway rammed a police car.

The burglars happened upon the police patrol car as they were emerging from the house with their loot. They got into their getaway car, drove into the police vehicle and sped off.

There were no reports of any injuries.
