Another 54 suspects tied to Greek drug smuggling ring
Thessaloniki police have identified 54 suspects tied to a drug smuggling ring operating across Greece.
According to authorities, 12 suspects were identified as members of the ring, which is believed to have been smuggling drugs into Greece from Albania, while another 42 are believed to have acted as their accomplices.
Police were able to crack down on the gang after eight of its alleged members were detained on May 23, including two Albanian brothers who were believed to be the group’s leaders.
Authorities estimate that the ring has smuggled about 78 kilos of cannabis and half a kilo of cocaine into the country.
