The majority of homeless are Greek, however there also people from African, Asian, Middle Eastern and European countries. The study shows that 63.4% of non-Greek homeless do not have any official documents. The vast majority of homeless are men (85.4%) and in the 35-55 age group (57%).

About 3 in 10 refuse to be accommodated at any shelters offered by municipalities o other bodies, with paper work and bureaucracy cited as the main reason. Other reasons include the difficult conditions in the shelters, restrictions and coexistence with others.
