Ministry of Education decides to extend terms of university councils

The University councils have had their terms extended for about a year and half by the Ministry of Education, which was set to end in May.

Although the Ministry of Education has expressed its intention to abolish the councils, it has been unable to overcome the legislative concerns.

As such, rather than allow new council elections to take place, the Ministry decided to extend the term of existing councils until the 31st of August 2017.
