Bronze busts stolen from the Cultural Center in Athens

Five bronze busts were reportedly stolen last from the Cultural Center in the city center of Athens a few days ago without the culprits carrying out the bold theft unnoticed!

The Kathimerini reported that the theft took place on the 25th and 26th of May, with the thieves first taking off with the bronze buts of Kostas Ouranis, Angelos Terzakis, Kostis Bastias and Giorgos Theotokas, only to return a day later to steal the bust of Pantelis Horn.

The culprits had to use heavy machinery in order to knock down their bases and then used a grinder to cut off the bronze busts. Despite all of this, the thieves went unnoticed. Authorities suspect that the busts were most likely taken to an illegal smelting foundry in Attica.
