The nationwide school exams are set to begin on Monday, with students across the country being tested in Modern Greek.

About 5% of candidates, who are students from previous years retaking the nationwide exams, will be examined with the older system.

In total there will be 1,000 exam centers (150 will be in vocational high schools) and 40 marking centers.

Following the conclusion of the exams, the Ministry of Education will announce university entry requirements in August.
