Olympic Flame concludes its journey across Greece
The ceremony for the Olympic Flame handover is scheduled to take place at 5pm on Wednesday at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.
This will officially conclude the Olympic Flame’s journey in Greece, with torch relay continuing in Brazil up until the 5th of August, ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. World rowing champion Katerina Nikolaidou will be the final torchbearer in Greece.
The President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos will attend the ceremony, where the President of the Brazilian Olympic Committee Carlos Nuzman will receive the Olympic Flame from the President of the Greek Olympic Committee Spyros Kapralos.
