Allegations of sexual abuse against children at Elliniko camp

British newspaper The Times has published an article regarding serious allegations of sexual abuse against children at the refugee camp that has been set up at the former airport site at Elliniko.

According to the newspaper report there have been numerous reports and allegations of violence and sexual abuse against children refugees. The British newspaper interviewed a 35-year-old mother from Afghanistan, who spoke about her concerns and fears.

Last week a 29-year-old man from Afghanistan was arrested on Chios as he allegedly raped a 13-year-old boy, also from Afghanistan, at the registration center on the island.
