Eurogroup convenes again on Thursday for Greece
The Eurogroup has decided that it will be meeting next Thursday to decide on the Greek programme, the group’s president Jeroen Dijsselbloem said on Friday.
Dijsselbloem also said that he told the lenders and the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) to search for solutions to restructure the Greek debt and make it sustainable, as long as it is consistent with the decisions made in July.
He added that the EU finance ministers had come to a decision that they are very close to an agreement with Greece after Friday’s Eurogroup meeting.
Dijsselbloem mentioned that Greece would have to put the fiscal policies agreed into action so as to achieve its goals by 2018.
Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, he said, had accepted the agreement and the lenders will work intensively in the coming days to organise themselves.
