One of the crew members of the Noor 1 cargo ship, which was seized in 2014 in Greece after it was used to smuggled 2 tons of heroin into the country, has died in custody.

The 32-year-old Indian man was being held at Drapetsona police precinct in Athens.

He complained of feeling unwell at around 3 p.m. on Friday. Police called an ambulance but the man, one of more than 30 suspects in an ongoing trial, died on his arrival at the hospital.

He is thought to have suffered a heart attack but tests were being carried out over the weekend to determine the exact cause of his death.
