Taxi driver federation announces nationwide strike
The nationwide federation of taxi drivers (POEIATA) has announced a 24-hour strike for Thursday, in protest of the government’s tax reform plans.
Following an emergency board meeting, it was decided that there will be no taxis from 5am on Thursday to 5am on Friday.
Additionally, the federation has demanded a reduction of the VAT to 13%, reduction of tax rates and setting a tax-free threshold at 12,000 euros, among others.
