No plans to close nursery schools, says ministry
The Education Ministry denied on Wednesday that it plans to close down some state-run nursery schools.
Responding to reports, the ministry said that it has no intention of closing any of the 5,224 nursery schools around the country.
It added that legislation submitted to Parliament this week raises to 14 the minimum number of pupils needed to form a nursery class in urban areas and reduces to 5 the number needed in remote parts of the country.
