Riot police beat up residents of Chios
Violent clashes broke out on Sunday night at the Greek island of Chios between riot police and the locals, when the residents protested against transferring the immigrants to be expulsed to the building which was initially used to identify and register refugees and immigrants.
According to politischios.gr, with no reason at all and while the residents were refusing peacefully to let the police vehicles to pass, riot police attacked them and started beating up them, while three people were transferred to the hospital.
The mayor of Tampakika region of Chios, Manolis Vournous, condemned riot police’s attack saying that the incident was due to the general lack of government’s coordination.
