German newspaper FAZ readers want Greece in the Eurozone
According to a poll published in German newspaper ‘Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung’ (FAZ),nearly half of the German citizens (49%) were in favour of Greece remaining in the Eurozone.
The poll conducted by British YouGov on behalf of FAZ revealed a substantial swing in the German public opinion on the matter of Greece’s place in the common currency area as the conservative publication points out. The extent of the swing becomes apparent when comparing the views of Germans in 2015 when left party SYRIZA had gained power.
Then a huge 59 percent of those polled said they wanted Greece out of the Eurozone compared to only 33 percent that believed the same in the March FAZ survey.
