A man has died after a large tree fell on his vehicle in Hania, on the northern coast of Crete, as a strong wind storm battered much of the island.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The 64-year-old man, whose name has not been made public, was travelling on Souda Avenue when a large Eucalyptus tree came down and fell onto his van.
