Two Idomeni camp refugees set themselves on fire in protest
Two refugees at the Idomeni camp in northern Greece tried to set themselves on fire Tuesday morning protesting against the wretched living conditions in the camp.
Some eyewitnesses said other refugees intervened and smothered the two men before the flames totally engulfed them.
The action by the two refugees sparked protests among the rest of refugees and illegal migrants trapped at Idomeni who started chanting for the borders between Greece and FYROM to open.
