Tsipras calls Davutoglu amid refugee crisis tensions
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Thursday had a phone contact with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu.
According to the Prime Minister’s office, the discussion focused on the reduction and management of the refugee influx, the EU-Turkey summit that will be held on March 7 in Brussels as well as on the 4th meeting of the Greece-Turkey High Cooperation Council that will take place on March 8 in Izmir.
On Tuesday, the EU passed an emergency plan to give Greece more aid to deal with the influx of refugees.
Turkey had also been reportedly blocking NATO ships from aiding in the refugee missions in the Aegean Sea.
