EWG to indicated when mission chiefs may return to Greece
Officials at the Euro Working Group meeting due to take place in Brussels on Monday are expected to decide whether the top representatives of Greece’s lenders should return to Athens.
Technical teams from the institutions have been in the Greek capital since last week but differences remain between Greece and its lenders, as well as between the creditors themselves, particularly in relation to the fiscal gap until 2018.
It had been expected that the mission chiefs would return at some point this week but Greek Finance Ministry sources told Kathimerini it is possible their visit will be postponed until after the Eurogroup on March 7, which coincides with a summit between the European Union and Turkey to discuss the refugee crisis.
