Prosecutor of the Supreme Court intervenes in the roadblocks
Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Euterpe Koutzamani has ordered prosecutors in Greece to intervene with the assistance of Greek Police and open the roads that are blocked by farmers.
Mrs. Koutzamani highlights that the phenomenon of blocking public roads by participants in farmers’ protest actions which has been recorded recently constitutes an offense according to Greece’s Penal Code.
She also adds that the offence of obstructing transportation routes is prosecuted ex officio to protect every kind of transportation facilities aimed for public use and considered social commodity.
