Farmers preparing for further escalation of protest actions
The government proposals presented at Monday’s meeting with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras have not pleased the farmers, who are now preparing to escalate their protest actions.
Already access to the customs offices at Promachonas and Exochi have been cut off, with trucks and cars unable to cross over. Similarly, many road blocks on the national highway network will limit the flow of vehicles.
Many of the farmer general assemblies have decided to carry on mobilizing, in hopes of pressuring the government into accepting its demands.
