Snap vote preferable to national unity government, Mitsotakis says
New Democracy would prefer an early election than enter a national unity government, conservative opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis has said.
“SYRIZA must finally live up to its responsibilities as a ruling party. But if the dilemma is between forming a national unity government and going to elections, then I will choose elections,” Mitsotakis said during an interview on STAR TV late Monday.
While criticizing the left-led government’s failure to implement much-needed economic reforms, Mitsotakis said his party would not try to trigger a snap vote.
