Farmers return to the road blocks after talks with government
The meeting held on Monday between the government and farmers did not result in any agreement between the two sides, with the farmers returning to their road blocks.
Both sides stated that meaningful talks took place on Monday, however there was no clear consensus among the farmers about the outcome of the meeting and whether they were pleased with the government’s offer.
A section of the farmers are in favor of further escalating their protest actions on the motorways, determined to not relent or back down from their demands. Others, still undecided, expressed their disappointment over the talks since the government does not appear to be in the position to circumvent its bailout commitments.
