Golden Dawn MPs expelled from parliamentary committee
Two Golden Dawn MPs were expelled from a parliamentary committee session Wednesday following a verbal attack on Defense Minister Panos Kammenos and several senior military officials, according to reports.
The incident took place while Kammenos was briefing a parliamentary committee on foreign affairs and defense on recent developments regarding Greece’s handling of the refugee crisis and plans for NATO patrols in the Aegean Sea.
Christos Pappas and Ilias Kasidiaris reportedly attacked Kamenos and military staff calling them “traitors.” The later was allegedly filming the incident on his mobile phone, which is against parliament regulations.
The two deputies were forced to leave the session on the basis of article 81 of the Parliament’s rulebook.
The leaders of Golden Dawn are on trial on charges of running a criminal organization.
