KEELPNO: Seasonal flu death toll climbs to 93
The Center of Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) has announced that 93 people have died so far as a result of the seasonal outbreak of the flu.
Additionally, KEELPNO noted that over 100 remain hospitalized in intensive care units. Since the start of the year, a total of 263 have received treatment at the intensive care units.
Experts claim the seasonal outbreak of the H1N1 flu virus has peaked and as such the number of cases is gradually expected to decline over the next few weeks.
Nevertheless, KEELPNO has warned that that majority of the population in Greece has not be inoculated this season and has urged vulnerable groups (such as the elderly) to take the necessary precautions and seek inoculation.
