German interior minister due in Athens on Friday for refugee talks
Germany’s Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière is due to visit Greece on Friday to hold discussions about the refugee crisis.
The creation of the so-called hot spots on Greek islands will be one of the main issues during the talks, Johannes Dimroth, a spokesman for Germany’s Interior Ministry, told journalists on Monday.
“The construction of these centers in Greece is an important component so we can guarantee a greater degree of control on the Greek borders,” said Dimroth.
Greece has pledged to complete another three hot spots, beyond the one already in operation on Lesvos, by the end of February.
