President Pavlopoulos stresses importance of Olympic institutions in refugee issue
Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Friday in a meeting with the president of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach stressed the importance of the contribution of the Olympic institutions in order to address the huge refugee problem in terms of humanity.
“We must clear out that we are relentless against terrorism, all forms of terrorism and particularly Islamic terrorism, and we treat refugees according to the principles of humanitarianism,” Pavlopoulos underlined.
“And the Olympic movement can do so more than any other and teach people that there can be no phobias towards people seeking protection,” he added.
