Payroll spending at 25.7 pct of general government spending in Q3
Payroll spending totaled 5.294 billion euros in the third quarter of 2015 (25.7 pct of total general government spending), almost unchanged from the same period in 2014, while social spending grew slightly to 9.743 billion euros (47.3 pct of total spending) over the same period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.
The statistics service, in a repoert, said that income and property taxes totaled 4.378 billion euros in the third quarter (21.9 pct of total revenue), down from the same period in 2014.
At the end of the third quarter, the public debt was 301.908 billion euros, down 315.459 billion in the same period in 2014, but up from 301.516 billion in the first quarter of 2015.
