Pavlopoulos to visit Berlin, Frankfurt
Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos will be in Germany Monday and Tuesday for an official visit, on the invitation of his German counterpart, Joachim Gauck.
Pavlopoulos will be meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel Monday for talks expected to focus on the refugee crisis, German government spokesman Steffen Seibert has said.
Their discussion will come ahead of Merkel’s meeting with her Turkish counterpart, Ahmet Davutoglu, on Friday, on the migration and refugee crisis.
Greece’s ongoing reform efforts are expected to be addressed.
While in Berlin, Pavlopoulos will also meet with the head of the Confederation of German Trade Unions, Reiner Hoffmann.
On Tuesday, the Greek president will travel to Frankfurt, where he will be meeting with European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi.
