Greek coast guard patrols were looking for six people who went missing after their boat capsized off the coast of Kastelorizo as they tried to reach Greece from Turkey on Tuesday morning.

The authorities were alerted by their Turkish counterparts after they rescued 12 migrants who had managed to swim to a small islet off Turkey’s coast and another five people from the sea. The rescued passengers said another six people were missing from the boat that went down.

The nationality of the passengers was not clear.
