Leventis: “Some PASOK and River MPs will support the pension reform”
The leader of the Union of Centrists Vasilis Leventis claimed that a number of MPs from PASOK and The River will support the controversial pension system reform, in an interview for Vima 99.5 FM on Friday.
Mr. Leventis argued that he was aware of “2-3 from Theodorakis’ party” and “one or two” MPs from PASOK will support the controversial reform, which he avoided naming. He estimated that the vote would be close, since “everyone who votes for the pension system reform, will also completely leave Parliament”.
In his interview Mr. Leventis repeated his call for the formation of an ecumenical government, which he had previously requested when Giorgos Papandreou and Antonis Samaras were in power. He also clarified that his party will not participate or support the SYRIZA-led government.
Regarding the developments and stance of New Democracy, Mr. Leventis argued that it is a “party with European principles” and was highly critical of the attempt to adopt an anti-bailout rhetoric, when it fully supported and voted for the bailout in September.
