BoG governor Stournaras to submit interim report on monetary policy
Bank of Greece governor Yannis Stournaras will submit the central bank’s interim report on monetary policy to Parliament on Friday.
The governor is expected to call for consensus so that the reforms included in the new financing programme will be implemented as soon as possible.
According to the central bank’s estimates, the economy will remain in recession in the first half of the year; however, a gradual recovery under conditions is feasible. A further relaxation of capital controls and their lifting as well as the improvement of the banking system’s liquidity are also conditions for the GDP to return to positive rates.
