Montenegro is newest NATO member
Foreign ministers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation invited Montenegro on Wednesday to join the US-led alliance, paving the way for the ex-Communist country to become the 29th member of NATO.
“We congratulate Montenegro,” NATO Secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg told the foreign minister to loud applause at the alliance headquarters in Brussels. “This is the beginning of a very beautiful alliance,” he added.
