9,119 VW cars with tampered software are on the Greek roads
At least 21,079 cars in Greece have a tampered software and 244 of them have been already withdrawn while only 9,119 are vehicles constructed by Volkswagen, stated Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Minister Christos Spirtzis.
Moreover, he announced that fines will be imposed to the three companies involved and as he explained, the legislative act is ready and will be tabled in a Environment Ministry’s draft law. He also said that the government is examining a regulation for possible losses to the society and the citizens.
Spirtzis also said that the 19,550 cars with “tampered software” have been imported to Greece by the official importers and underlined that two more car industries are involved in the scam.
