ND leader asks for resignation of the Education minister
Main opposition leader Vangelis Meimarakis asked for the resignation of Education Minister Nikos Filis on Thursday, saying he considers him as the inciter of the attack against New Democracy MP Giorgos Koumoutsakos earlier this evening.
“Mr. Filis should better resign, or the prime minister himself should take a stand and make him resign,” Meimarakis said commenting on the incident that took place outside parliament during a protest rally of Pontic Greeks. “We consider Mr. Filis, the Education Minister, as the inciter and he has no place in the Greek government today,” he said adding that the party will examine whether it can table a motion of no confidence against the minister.
