56th Thessaloniki Film Festival opens on Friday
The 56th Thessaloniki Film Festival opens on Friday, November 6, with the German drama “Victoria” followed by another 200 films, including 77 Greek ones.
The festival includes 118 long films and 62 short films from 53 countries, special screenings and tributes, as well as special sections such as Open Horizons and Balkan Survey, a concert followed by the screening of the film “Metropolis” by Fritz Lang and accompanied by the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra.
Distinguished artists in the European independent cinema such as French filmmaker Arnaud Desplechin and Romanian director Mircea Daneliuc will attend the festival.
The festival will close with the screening of the film “My Golden Years” by Arnaud Desplechin who is also the honoured director. and will offer a masterclass on Saturday 14 November
Tickets for each screening cost 5 euros.
