EU Parliament head Schulz visits Lesvos
European Parliament President Martin Schulz and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will visit Lesvos island on Thursday to see in situ the titanic efforts made to deal with the refugee flows.
Greece hopes that Schulz’s visit to the island will activate forces at European level to support a humanitarian refugee policy.
“Greece is facing its most difficult challenge since World War II amid the economic and refugee crisis and the Stability Pact provides that in case of emergency situations, flexibility must be shown,” Schulz in an interview with ANA-MPA.
