Government names new top fiscal policy official
Franciscos Koutentakis, a former advisor to Greece’s leftist prime minister, has been appointed as new General Secretary for Fiscal Policy.
Koutentakis was also part of the prime minister’s negotiating team recently. He also briefly represented Greece at the Euro Working Group meetings.
He is not replacing former General Secretary for Public Revenues Katerina Savvaidou, who was dismissed by the government last week after it emerged that she has been asked to appear before anti-corruption prosecutors to answer questions about a second alleged case of breach of duty.
A statement by the Finance Ministry on Tuesday also said that Petros Triarchis has been named new head of the General Secretariat for Information Systems.
